Being a Humanist celebrant is such a privileged job – I mean look at this spot?! I got to share that gorgeous dappled June sunshine, complete with fluttery ribbons, with the sweetest Bride and Groom…and call it ‘work’?!
Daisy and Andrew’s Humanist wedding at The Cowshed at Woodhall Farm was so laid back and beautifully personal. Having met at school, their story of having been childhood sweethearts was frankly adorable! The ceremony took place on a private island and featured plenty of guest participation, a flash mob playing ‘All You Need Is Love’ (a la Love Actually!) and lots of happy tears! There was no pretence, nothing pompous – just real, honest love.
“Wow where to start! What a wonderful person Laura is; kind, patient, thoughtful! We had never been to a Humanist wedding before but having experienced a Humanist funeral we thought we would find out more for our own wedding day. We booked Laura within half an hour of meeting her we were so blown away with her manner and enthusiasm for marriage ceremonies!
In our initial meeting Laura asked us what we were looking for for our wedding ceremony. She explained to us about humanist ceremonies and talked us through the process or creating something personal and unique to us as a couple. Our wedding ceremony was the best part of our day! It was delivered perfectly and summed us up as a couple, moved nearly all to tears and was filled with love, laughter and joy!
Everyone has been asking where we found Laura and all about humanism and saying it was the most moving ceremony they’d ever watched! So thank you Laura so much for all your hard work on it and for being so amazing! Wish we could do it all again!”
