What could be better than arriving at a venue to the sound of your bride and her bridesmaids singing Whitney Houston at the top of their lungs!? YAAAASS! To say that Hannah was excited about her super laid-back Humanist wedding is kind of an understatement! The bedroom where she was getting ready had a perfect view of the ceremony preparations in the courtyard below. So in between hair and make-up, she was hanging out of the window yelling welcomes to her guests!
Sometimes my job is to counsel my couples through their wedding day nerves but every now and again, a couple like Hannah and John come along. There were no worries, no angst, they were just impatient to get the ceremony started! I left Hannah sitting on the edge of the bed, swinging her legs and asking if we could kick things off a few minutes early – and that NEVER happens!
“From the moment we met Laura we knew we had made the right choice for our humanist wedding. She was warm, professional and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know John and I before the big day. She made us feel really at ease about our ceremony, and we really felt like we were in safe hands! The way Laura approached the ceremony was exactly what we wanted, detailed but also relaxed. She let us come to her when we were ready with our readings and songs, even if one may have been rather last minute…! We always felt guided by Laura and her experience and really did trust that she would do a great job.
On the day of our ceremony she made sure to check in with both myself and John beforehand which was lovely. When I walked down the aisle it was so nice to see her beaming smile at the end (along with my husband of course!!). I couldn’t recommend Laura enough. We had so many compliments about how she conducted the ceremony after the wedding. Laura thank you so much! You made our wedding ceremony exactly what we wanted, – not too heavy, with our story being the soul of the ceremony.”
