Your Humanist Wedding Celebrant With Heart

Laura Gimson is a humanist wedding celebrant who creates deeply personal, joyous and welcoming ceremonies for everyone, regardless of faith or beliefs.

Hello! i'm Laura.

The beaming one in the white dress is me and the adorable (enormous) leaping man is my husband. And our Humanist Wedding back in 2011 was the beginning of all *this*.

Actually, if I’m really honest, my wedding obsession started way earlier. There’s photographic evidence of me, aged 3, wearing one of my mum’s M&S white petticoats on my head, pretending to be a bride. But these days, I tend to stick to the marrying side of things…and avoid wearing white!

Since training with Humanists UK back in 2016, I’ve turned my enthusiasm for all things wedding-related into my career.

Nearly 200 weddings in, and I always feel privileged to be trusted with such an important moment in people’s lives. And I’m more passionate than ever about creating ceremonies that are deeply personal but also full of warmth and joy.

I’m based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, but I can’t say no to excellent humans so I’m happy to travel.

“Laura didn’t just lead the celebration, she brought it to life. She gave it soul, heart, and magic. She set a tone so warm, so personal, and so emotionally resonant, that the entire day blossomed from that moment onward.”
Emma and Scott
“Choosing Laura as our celebrant was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Telling her our story felt like talking to a friend, she is encouraging, warm and has that incredible ability to make you feel like you've known her a lifetime”
Angelina and Olly
So many guests told us it was the best ceremony they’d ever been to. They genuinely thought Laura was a close friends that we’d known for years! It's a testament to the wonderful work she does and the personal touches she weaves through everything."
MARK AND TASSILO
"She didn't just officiate our ceremony; she crafted it with such emotion and care that it felt like a friend was guiding us through one of the most important moments of our lives."
Maddie and Alex
"Guests at weddings often compliment things like the food, venue, flowers or dad dancing, but at our wedding the highest praise was reserved for our celebrant. Laura set the tone and energy not just for the ceremony itself, but for the entire day, creating an atmosphere that was full of fun, positivity and meaning."

My approach

Humanist, inclusive and centred on your story

Humanism is rooted in kindness, curiosity and the belief that we can create meaning in this life, with the people we love. For weddings, that means a ceremony built around your values and your story rather than a template or rulebook.

You do not need to be a “humanist couple” to have a humanist ceremony. You simply need to want something sincere and personal: a ceremony that gives your guests a genuine glimpse of who you are together.

A Humanist ceremony is non-religious but celebrating culture, roots and heritage is absolutely encouraged! And your ceremony will feel totally welcoming and inclusive regardless of the faith or beliefs your guests may have.
