Favourites! WEDDING VENUE SPOTLIGHT: Compton Verney

It’s January 2026. After literally years of letting my blogs fall deathly silent, I decided today was the day to get back on the horse. And what better way to ease myself in than with the creation of a new blog series of ‘Favourites’. It’s my chance to sing the praises of wedding suppliers that I love, in the totally undisguised hope you’ll reunite us by booking us both. Dream team! Today, it’s the turn of Warwickshire wedding venue, Compton Verney.

You’d be hard pushed to find any other place to tie the knot that boasts such a unique offering:

  • An art gallery set within a glorious mansion
  • Its own private chapel
  • Acres of beautiful grounds landscaped by Capability Brown
  • Ever-changing and deliciously eclectic guest sculptures
  • Event Manager Extraordinaire (Hannah!)
  • The loveliest team of walkie-talkie-wielding volunteers to ensure your day runs smoothly

As a celebrant, one of  the things I love most about Compton Verney, is the variety of ceremony venues available. The Adam Hall is the perfect choice if you’re after understated grandeur and elegance. Marble floors, pillars, high ceilings – it’s pretty special.

If you’d prefer something a bit more relaxed and the weather’s on your side, the courtyard is THE ONE. Enclosed on three sides, it manages to feel intimate despite being open-air. Take a peek at Sarah and Paddy’s ceremony which I conducted there back in 2019…

Last but by no means least, the chapel. Despite it’s religious past, it’s now also available for non-religious ceremonies – at least, I haven’t burst into flames yet. There are several reasons I adore this spot.

1) It’s absolutely bathed in natural light:

2) The acoustics are incredible (hard to prove in a photo so you’ll just have to take my word for it!)

3) Its crisp white walls make any florals really pop.

4) You can end your ceremony with one of my favourite little rituals: ringing the chapel bell!

Still on my bucket list is doing a micro-ceremony in the gallery itself.
