Kelsey and Edward, Davenport House Wedding, Shropshire

Kelsey and Edward knew they wanted a celebrant led ceremony for their Davenport House wedding. They wanted something meaningful and emotional. But what they hadn’t expected, was just how personal it would be.

Weaving in quotes from their favourite movies, telling all the details of their American dream of a love story (even the bit where Edward technically broke the law to get Kelsey’s phone-number), every word took them and their guests on a journey…

Here’s a little snippet, taken from their ceremony:

“When Kelsey was still a student nurse, she had to visit a screening centre to have her fingerprints taken. Edward said having spotted her through the window as she crossed the car-park to the reception, he frantically tried to fix himself up ready for the moment the door opened to this incredibly beautiful woman. Kelsey was wearing her baggy scrubs, white clogs, her hair was a mess – she felt so far from glamorous. But she walked in, their eyes met and sparks flew! Ordinarily the fingerprinting process would take just a few minutes but Kelsey’s palms were so sweaty in Edward’s presence that her digital prints kept coming out as smears! As mortifying as it was, the upside was it gave them longer to chat.

But despite both of them feeling a real connection, neither could quite pluck up the courage to ask for one another’s number. Edward said he was kicking himself as he watched Kelsey drive off. He spent a couple of hours grappling with his conscience before he gave into temptation…and stole her number from the State Background Screening Database! He’s well aware this decision divides opinion. People either find it utterly adorable or completely inappropriate! Maybe it’s both!? But the fact remains; we probably wouldn’t all be here today if he hadn’t opted to bend the rules in his quest for love!”

Laura absolutely made our wedding day! Since we found and booked her, we knew we had chosen the most talented and amazing celebrant.

Our meeting was so lovely. We chatted about our relationship, why we love each other and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Laura took our mad ramblings and turned them into the most incredible ceremony.

I’m not sure my words here can do justice to just how amazing it was; our guests (and us) were laughing, crying and feeling more love than we thought could be possible.

We love that our ceremony was entirely unique and that it was so unbelievably ‘us’. None of our guests had expected that instead of ‘the usual boring official bit’ our ceremony would offer a glimpse into our relationship, why we loved each other and our own personalized vows, written with Laura’s guidance. They were so taken aback by originality, honesty and amazing delivery of our ceremony that the love overflowed across the whole day and night.

When we had to postpone our wedding we told Laura that we would work our new date exclusively around her availability and that was the very best decision. We are in no doubt whatsoever that out of every amazing supplier we worked with, Laura was the most integral to the love we felt on the day and to our having the wedding of our dreams. For that we will be forever grateful.
